Welcome. Schwinn is a biking company founded in the year 1895 in Chicago by a German mechanical engineer named Ignaz Schwinn. (1860 - 1945) It became the dominant manufacturer of American bycicles through most of the 20th century. Schwinn eventually ended up declaring bankruptcy in 1992, leading to them being bought by Dorel Industries, lowering the quality of their bikes.
